All the youth from church went to prom last night. Seeing their excitement the last few weeks made me think back to when I went to prom. I attended prom my senior year and it was so much fun!!! I thought it would be neat to do a prom post:)
I don't think Blair had any idea what he was in for when he asked me to go with him to prom. You see prom is no exception in our household and it was a major family event:) Not only did he have to meet the parents but he also met my grandma Oaks as well as grandma and grandpa Swanson. Of course all the siblings were there too. Also Mandi's good friend Erin and my cousin!!! Our yard looked like a used car lot! Whew--- alot of folks to have to meet all at once and seriously WAY too many pictures to have to take!!!! Yall I am not joking... between all the different stops we made...I think I took more pictures the day of prom than I did on my wedding day:) I dreaded having to put his little flower on him. I was worried I was going to poke him ....who knows I might have and he just didnt bother to say anything:) We were invited to eat dinner at a friends house. His mom (also my 3rd grade teacher) fixed us all dinner and had quite a few of us over before prom. Of course there were more pictures taken there too!!! We finally made it to the actual prom ....and again had more pictures to take!! Once inside we really did have a good time and when it was all over several of us went back to Blairs house and eventually crashed for the night!!!
My prom experience was alot of fun and I was fortunate to be able to go with a great guy! I am so thankful for the memories I have of prom!
In case you were wondering ...Chad went to one prom too. We do not have any pictures from his night. I called his mom to see if she had any but she never called me back so I am assuming she didnt find any either. Bummer!
His stories about his prom date are absolutely hilarious! I wont even go there!! His opinion about prom definitely differs from mine but at least we both got to experience it once in our lives!!!
I try really hard to keep up with all my friends from high school ---blogging helps. You can check out Blair and his beautiful family here
