Not Quite What I Had In Mind???

Yesterday was our 1 Year Anniversary!!!!!! Such a crazy thought---- this past year went by SO super fast.

Needless to say we celebrated in a totally different way than I had imagined we would. Honestly since my accident I have been kinda dreading this day because in my mind I knew I wouldnt be able to do the plans I was hoping to have. Proverbs 16:9 has been a verse I remind myself of alot lately. It states that " A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps." These steps of life that I am currently taking are FAR from what I would have planned for us .... but we are here facing EVERY challenge that each day brings and I wouldn't want to do this with anyone else other than Chad. Never in a million years would I have thought one year into marriage I would need help getting to the bathroom or in and out of a car!!!! Nor did I think I would need a special toliet seat and wheelchair to use:)

We were able to enjoy lunch at the Ivey House in Alachua with my younger brother, Ryan in tow:) He agreed to drive me up to visit Chad for the night!! I am so grateful for ALL the help we are getting.I had to manage getting in and out of the resturant with my walker which pretty much wore me out!!!! The meal was yummy and the company was even better!

We know we have SO much to be thankful for, however we are both facing difficult times and learning how to deal with our individual struggles is not always easy! Being away from home is hard on me right now even though I know it is in my best interest for the time being.Hopefully soon I'll make it home.

I had my first follow up appt last week and will be starting therapy the end of this week. Basically I have a LONG way to go but everything is looking good so far!

I would have much rather done a post on all the exciting things this past year brought but I am just too tired so maybe another time!!! Until then we will continue to love in good times and bad / in sickness and in health:) We look forward to many more steps that God has planned for us in the future!
